Modest proposal

Instead of giving the CEOs of failing companies hundreds of millions of dollars as they flee like rats, how about the CEOs take a bit of the blame, since they were leading these companies to their fiery deaths, taking thousands of employees (and often their pensions) with them?

Perhaps we could take a cue from our Asian colleagues, and these CEOs could write letters of shame and confession, then kill themselves. They could do it on TV as a reality show!

Maybe the poor decisions driven by greed could be averted if they knew their lives were on the line.

Comments:
They should kill themselves so hard that they die to death.

Suicide is a bit harsh. I was thinking that the Arkansas principal from The Principal's Office could smack them with a paddle once for every million they pissed away. The CEOs would need hemmorhoid doughnuts for the rest of their lives.

When thousands of people lose their jobs and their health insurance while the CEOs get multimillion dollar bonuses... suicide isn't harsh enough.

That reminds me of a great exchange from V: The Final Battle when the Resistance subdues the collaborator Daniel Bernstein.

CALEB: You gonna kill him?

HAM TYLER (brandishing broken wine bottle): As many times as I can.
