Me: "Goodnight, kiddo."
H: "Goodnight."
Me: "Don't get up in the middle of the night."
H: "Okay."

It's adorable that I think a three-year-old can make that promise.
It's adorable that a three-year-old thinks he can keep it.

The kids woke up Saturday morning at 5 a.m. L and I looked at each other and asked, "Well, what should we do today?" H had been talking about the ocean a lot and had never seen it, and we were two hours from Virginia Beach, so we loaded the car and went! We got there and had donuts and were on the beach by 9:30 and stayed until 1:30 p.m. Had a late lunch on the way home and were in the house again by 5. A very full day, but the kind that makes memories.
