smacky and bucky

Had a very relaxing weekend. L and I went out to lunch on a rainy Saturday, then relaxed and watched the Caps win a hockey game Saturday night. Sunday we noticed the top left corner of the freezer door wasn't sealing completely, letting out cold air. I decided the door was too low for some reason and needed to be raised. I took a blurry pic with my phone and headed to the hardware store to search for plastic washers.

Walking in the door of Home Depot I saw this:



It's just a basic ratchet driver, but damn, it kicks ass. And I hate digging around for the right size ratchet. Finished the fridge repair in about five minutes (including completely removing the freezer door and setting it on the floor!) so it was definitely $10 well spent.

There was a Halloween store across from where we had lunch, and I saw and coveted this:

A quick internet search confirmed what I feared this morning: I'm dressed like the guy from Blue's Clues today. Proof:

We've been selling items like crazy on Amazon: old CDs, DVDs, and paperbacks. Last night we sold something to our first celebrity. I don't want to say his name and have it come up in a search, so here's a clue (from one of my favorite movies of all time!):

I do spend a lot of time surfing the web at home. I just don't blog much recently. I just saw I have 918 posts. That's since October 2004 (just over five years ago). That's about 184 posts a year, or about a post every three days.

But the last few months I've been SLACKING.

Tomorrow I plan on sorting the Power Man & Iron Fist issues I bought at the last comic show and seeing if I do indeed have a complete run now. It's possible. Exciting times!

Well, if you read my tweets, or see me on Facebook, you know why I'm neglecting this poor blog. On the agenda today are two birthday gifts:

Two disc set, from the movie originally released in 1981. We'll see how much they sugarcoated his life (doubt they mention drugs even once).


The second (and final) season. After they moved the show to Friday nights I forgot to watch it nearly every time. So I haven't seen at least 75% of the episodes.

I got sick this week. Really for the first time in years, I caught a real cold, with mucous and phlegm and all that mess. Ick. Out two days in a row, which is a record for me. Two sick days in a row is a first for me in seven years. I have almost 600 hours of sick leave saved up. Ugh. Being sick blows.

Taking it easy this weekend. Resting Saturday so I can make it to Comics and Beer Sunday with De. Got to take him his Red House shirt!
