Caps got a new coach

Wow, so immediately after Thanksgiving the Caps fired their coach and hired Dale Hunter, who played for the Caps for years and years (former captain). He'd been coaching in the minors in Canada.

First game with new coach is tonight!

Sorry, this is basically a poop post.

I just carried the baby home from his grandparents' place next door (at our river place), thinking he had a wet diaper. Turns out it wasn't pee.

I had to bathe him and wash his clothes. And the bath mat. And my shirt. I'm having a beer and watching Star Wars on Spike as I type this. All's well that cleans up, huh?

And Caps play the Sabres in two hours. Maybe they'll actually win this one too? That would be a change from their recent games!

Same to you, weekend.

Nearly succeeded in doing nothing all weekend. But I still managed to get a parking ticket on Saturday and our big TV stopped working last night, so... meh.

Actual pic of my Twitter feed

These two tweets appeared next to each other in the timeline. Does it say more about Twitter, the world in which we live, or me and the choices I've made?

Ugh, long week.

Wife had a kidney stone this week. Between that, work, household chores, and the little boy, not a lot much else to report.

Now that I'm reading the Walking Dead compendium (over 1,000 pages!), I'm enjoying the show on a different level (mainly because they are diverging from the comic and moving at a glacial pace!).

Still, love me some zombies, so I will support this show until the end (which I hope is 15 seasons from now ;-) ).

I want to do nothing all weekend.

Hopscotch post

I didn't bother to check the country of origin for this stuff. I doubt it's America...

Keeping busy. Last weekend we went to an oyster festival in a small coastal town and had a blast. They close the entire town and charge you to park in a field, then you walk across the bridge into town where you can sample tons of different food (not just oysters). From the assorted vendors I had: 12 oysters, then a fried shrimp basket, then 5 more oysters, then 2 deep fried Oreos, then 8 more oysters. We actually walked over four miles that day, so I needed the fuel anyway! We watched a guy juggling and telling the worst jokes while doing it. Then he got on a unicycle and juggled. It was a corny act, but seeing it through Henry's eyes stopped me from making any snarky comments to the wife about it. The baby is making me a better person (less of a jaded dickweed?)

Then H saw one of these and was entranced. He sat on the ground and looked up at it with awe on his face for minutes. We finally had to pick him up and lead him away:

If all goes well, I'll have something cool to report about what we're doing tomorrow...

In the meantime, let's go Caps! Going for the second win in two days tonight!

Boo!

Halloween was a lot of fun. We got the boy in his costume (third time in less than a week) and hit the neighborhood. Here he is at his very first trick or treating house (monumental moment!):

He's carrying a glow stick.
