Happy Holidays
Oh man, this year has been like this:
A careening truck, flying all over the road.
We've been holding on, occasionally trying to even steer it one way or the other.
And all of a sudden, it's time for Christmas and the end of another year.
In November, I thought of the coming holidays as an iceberg approaching from the horizon. When it was suddenly December, my image of it changed to a meteor hurdling toward the house.
I look at my kids, now 3 and 1, and I am trying my best to turn that view into something much more positive. This needs to be a magical time for them, not necessarily by being buried in gifts, but by being with family, and being with HAPPY family, who can relax and enjoy the season, and not sit there with spines wound tight like rubber bands about to snap...
Yeah, so... we're trying to breathe, and to be in the moment. The kids will be 3 and 1 once. And it's NOW. I don't want this time to be a distant memory where I wish I had done more, or had a better attitude.
It's time for some holiday spirit, is what I'm saying!
Don't know if I'll blog again before next year, so let me just say thank you to all you who read this. Your friendships are important to me.
