New houseguest

Lexi tries out the giant bed (but still sleeps in as small a ball as possible).

My mother-in-law had major surgery yesterday (a four-hour procedure ended up taking six hours), and after a week in the hospital, she'll be staying at the home of my wife's sister and her husband. There's one small problem: who takes care of her German shepherd? My wife offered to do it, so for the next few weeks, our two-bedroom bungalow will house two people, three dogs, and two cats. They arrived Sunday morning with the big dog and her giant bed. The shepherd is very sweet, thank goodness, and doesn't chase the cats. Our big boy cat is still wary of the new dog, and slinks slowly through the room like he's trying not to set off a motion detector. The little girl cat? It's just another bed to her.

Note the dog's toy is the same size as the cat.
The dog caught her in the bed and sniffed her, but when the cat didn't move, the shepherd slept on the floor!

Comments:
The dog must have sensed that it would be bad luck to mess with a black cat :)

Smart dog *grin*

When Tori, our long haired dilute calico cat, is eating out of the dog dish, Arf, all 75 pounds, waits until she's finished.
